Creating Custom Glitter Text in Adobe Photoshop & ImageReady
Step One: Open a new canvas by clicking file and new or holding the Ctrl key while hitting N. Set your size for 450 x 300 pixels for this example with a white background.
Step 2: Pick out a thick font and a color of your choice and do some typing of words or a phrase on your blank canvas. Try to center it the best you can.
Step 3: Rasterize the layer by right-clicking in your layers palette onto the layer with the text on it and hit "Rasterize Type" Right click on it again and hit duplicate layer 3 separate times. Click on the top layer and go to "Filters" on the toolbar above. Click "Noise" and then "Add Noise" In the amount field type in 25%. Check the boxes for "Uniform" and "Monochromatic"
Step 4: Click on the second layer and go to "Filters" on the toolbar above. Click "Noise" and then "Add Noise" In the amount field type in 26%. Check the boxes for "Uniform" and "Monochromatic" Click on the third layer and go to "Filters" on the toolbar above. Click "Noise" and then "Add Noise" In the amount field type in 27%. Check the boxes for "Uniform" and "Monochromatic" Click on the fourth layer and go to "Filters" on the toolbar above. Click "Noise" and then "Add Noise" In the amount field type in 28%. Check the boxes for "Uniform" and "Monochromatic"
Step 5: Save your work! You do not want to lose it!
Step 6: Click on "File" and then "Jump To" and then "Edit in ImageReady". Photoshop will transfer all of your work into this program so that you can work with the glitter animation.
Step 7: On the bottom left to the screen you should see a little animation window with a thumbnail of your file in it. Below the thumbnail there are little buttons. You are going to find the button that says "Duplicate" and hit it three times so that there are four little thumbnails instead of one.
