I love to collect cookie cutters, but I must admit that I hardly ever use them on cookie dough. That's because there are so many other uses for these cute kitchen gadgets. You can use them at the holidays to make candy. You can even use them to create a special breakfast on your anniversary. If you want an excuse to buy even more cookie cutters, check out these ten uses.

Ten Uses for Cookie Cutters #1: Cake Stencils

Yes, you can buy cake stencils, but why buy a cake stencil when you can use cookie cutters? All you have to do is place the cookie cutters on top of your cake and then pour on colored sugar or sprinkles. You can even pipe more frosting into the "stencil".

Ten Uses for Cookie Cutters #2: Party Sandwiches

Another fun way to use cookie cutters is to cut out small sandwiches for parties. Just make your sandwiches as normal and use your sharpest cookie cutter to cut out several mini sandwiches. Depending on the size of your cookie cutter, you may get anywhere from one to four mini sandwiches from each sandwich.

Ten Uses for Cookie Cutters #3: Fun Pancakes

On my anniversary I love to make heart shaped pancakes for my boyfriend. But, you don't need a fancy mold to make these pancakes. All you need to do is use heart shaped cookie cutters and cut your pancakes once they are cooked. Sprinkle sliced strawberries with sugar and allow to set until a syrup forms. Top your pancakes with the strawberries and fresh whipped cream.

Ten Uses for Cookie Cutters #4: Holiday Fudge

Cookie cutters always come in handy at the holidays, but they come in handy in more ways than one. Once your fudge has set, use a cookie cutter to cut shapes out of your fudge. If you wanted to make this treat even more decadent, you can dip the fudge into melted chocolate.

Ten Uses for Cookie Cutters #5: Festive Cheesecake

Instead of using a springform pan the next time you make cheesecake, use a 9 x 13 inch pan. Once the cheesecake has cooled use cookie cutters to cut out holiday shapes. Then dip the cheesecake into melted chocolate and allow to harden until ready to serve.
