Is Your Home's Exterior Keeping Lookers from Becoming Buyers?

One of the quickest ways to draw potential buyers to your home is to increase its' curb appeal. Many home owners make the mistake of completely remodeling their home's interior, only to neglect its' exterior. The savvy homeowner realizes, however, that the exterior of a home is often the first and only part that would-be buyers ever see before making an instant decision. To make your home more attractive on the outside, take a look at the lawn. Do you have too many lawn ornaments and decorations? Despite how cute they might be to you and yours, these often take away from a home's appeal with buyers. Remove these items in order to create a visual "blank canvas" for your potential buyers to envision their own lawn ornaments, or what have you, upon. Next, look at the health of your grass. It's a simple step, but it can make a truly tremendous difference in your home's exterior beauty. If you notice dead, dry grass or patches, take care of them immediately with constant watering and seed planting. While your grass is undergoing its' transformation, examine your shrubbery and bushes. What do you have in terms of decorative plants and flowers to accent your home? If you aren't sure where to start, look at your paint. Your plants should match your home, so plant a few small flowering varieties around your door and front porch, as well as around your mailbox. To finish the look, neatly arrange matching bushes, such as boxwood bushes, along the front of your home, being careful not to plant them too far apart. Bushes planted at the base of the home should not have unsightly gaps that show too much of the lower, often less clean portion of the home.
