Being a chocoholic myself, I thought that I'd help others through the trial and error of ordering desserts at various restaurants. Nothing can complete a meal like just the right dessert, especially if it's chocolate. A not so great dessert on the other hand can turn a good meal into a disappointing one in an instant.

When I saw the commercial for the "pick 3" combo at TGI Friday's a few months ago, I was excited, but when I saw the picture of the Oreo Cake, I almost had to pick up my tongue from the floor. Some friends and I went and ordered them for our desserts and none of us were pleased. I thought that the cake was somewhat of an ice cream cake, with layers of chocolate cake in between layers of ice cream. Boy was I wrong. The cake tasted like stale cardboard and the frosting that was used in between the layers of cake looked and tasted more like Elmer's glue. I hardly finished my cake, which means it must have been bad because I hardly ever waste good chocolate. I'll never order it again and I haven't been back to TGI Fridays since.

Another time I tried Applebee's Blue Ribbon Brownie for dessert. It was two triangles of brownie with walnuts in them and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream topped off with drizzles of chocolate syrup all over the plate. Sounds sinfully good right? Wrong! The brownie was hard and dry so eating it with more like chewing on a leather ball. Also, the brownie hardly even tasted like chocolate. I've tried this one a few times because I thought maybe it was just THAT particular day that the dessert wasn't good, but each time I was disappointed. I'd stick to the Triple Chocolate Meltdown if you want something for that sweet tooth here.
