Do You Have Yeast Infection Symptoms... Or Could it Be a More Serious Condition?
Embed:
Yeast infections come in differing degrees of irritation, depending on your body chemistry and hygienic rituals. For the most part, yeast infections are relatively easy to prevent, depending on how much you're willing to care for your body, as the number one cause is poor health. However, the symptoms of a yeast infection are often confused with other problems and diseases. You can still hear doctors stating, from time to time, that anyone with a symptoms of a yeast infection is highly recommended to come see them for the diagnosis, rather than trying to self diagnose.
Again, this is because the symptoms of a yeast infection can be very similar, or even identical, to some symptoms of other more serious problems. If you waste time treating the symptoms of a yeast infection, only to find out that you don't have a yeast infection, that's precious time you've lost in treating whatever the real ailment is.
Symptoms of a yeast infection are generally fairly simple, but they do tend to differ. Again, this is because of your hygiene and body chemistry, as everyone will react slightly differently.
The main symptoms of a yeast infection are:
- An itchy, burning feeling centered around the vagina and vulva. The itching is not always there, but can sometimes be very bad, making it difficult even to walk.
- Clumpy white discharge. This can range anywhere from a looking similar to ricotta cheese or cottage cheese to being thick and creamy, or yellowish. It can be many different things, but if you've got a strange discharge, go see the doctor, like now!
- The smell. If it smells like, well, yeast, then it might just be a yeast infection. This is the major telling point. If it smells like bread or beer down there, then it's almost certainly a yeast infection.
These symptoms of a yeast infection are the big three things to look for. Most symptoms of a yeast infection aren't horribly bad, resulting in cottage cheese discharge and an itch, but it can get to be very uncomfortable.
