What Would You Do with Harry Potter's Powers?

Ah, the magical world of the ever so famous Harry Potter. A fantasy that just about everyone has to admit to giving thought to for at least a short while. To wonder, "Wouldn't it be cool if I had a wand?" or "It should would be nice to travel quickly by floo powder" or even "Quidditch would be an awesome sport!"

What could some of the more popular items be used for in real life? Now, this is just a fantasy world here so it's all for fun. You could probably compare some of these things to real things. For example, traveling by a flying broom might give the same feeling as riding on a free spirited roller coaster. Or polyjuice potion might do about the same thing as specialized make up and costumes. But what if they were all real? What if we could really use these things?

Magical Wands and Invisibility Cloaks

In the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, we are introduced to Harry Potter and this wizarding world. The very first useful tool we see is the wand. Obviously used for just about everything, wands could do a lot of good in this world...they could also do a lot of bad! In the right hands, perhaps much could be done about the less fortunate portions of the world or even something as little as these crazy gas prices!

The Invisibily Cloak is a very famous tool that is introduced in this first book. In fact, when muggles such as you and I are asked which magical gift would they like to have, if it were in fact real, most people mention the Invisibility Cloak! Imaginations can run wild with one of these; eavesdrop on situations and conversations that might involve information about yourself, find out what's coming next at work, or even use it in the grocery store when approaching that certain someone that you'd really rather not spend the next twenty minutes chatting with!
