A Sophisticated Season

Somewhere in the back corner of fashion heaven, the angels wrenched Glamour free from her captors and released her to shine down on women just in time to replace summer's waning rays. Translation - Fall's trends say Glamorous is Good again!

The classic creamy red lipstick, the cat eyes, the soft wavy hair, and the vintage couture - all are back. I should have predicted this when I visited my local music store and there was not a copy of Roy Orbison to be found...

How do I get the look?

Lips - The redder the better. Every line on the market has its own variation of Red. Some of my faves, Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick in Excès de Rouge and Stila Longwearing LipColor in Flush.

Liners - Some prefer liquids and pots, I like pencils. For me, there is nothing better than the Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in any of several colors to wear straight or smudged, heavy, or "pencil" thin.

Lashes - Falsies are again all the rage, as the fringe flirting is in full force. Have you seen the newest feathered fakes at MAC? A bit costume ballish, but sure to make a statement! Sephora's Flirt-It Lash Duo also creates high drama. AND - if you want to lengthen and thicken, but false just isn't for you, up your batting average with one of my two favorite mascaras, Dior Show or Benefit BadGal - guaranteed to rival even the fullest fakes.

Locks - I'm in love with my GHD styling iron, now available in chic pink. This miraculous tool not only straightens and shines your tresses, it creates 40's waves with a flick of the wrist! Hold the iron vertically about an inch from the root. Gently close iron on your hair and twist around halfway, then pulling through all the way to the ends in one continuous movement.

Give Glamour a Go! Fall is certainly shaping up to be a sophisticated season.
