Some people think that perfect skin is genetic. However, a person that really wants perfect skin can get it. They just have to want it.

People have always told me that I have beautiful skin, and that's because I apply a few good practices to keeping my skin in good condition.

Skin care is all about being disciplined. It's also about having faith, and if faith seems too religious for most, skin care is about making positive affirmations. Along with discipline and positive affirmations, you need several good products.

The first item that should get people on the road to having perfect skin and a perfect skin care regimen is a good facial cleanser. I recommend Cetaphil because it is very gentle, effective and inexpensive. Cetaphil is not as well known as Clearasil or Oil of Olay, but it's a drug store's best-kept secret.

The next thing a person needs is a good moisturizer. I recommend Oil of Olay Beauty Fluid or Neutrogena Healthy Skin, but there are many other moisturizers on the market that might work well. When a moisturizer is used on the face, it should be applied using an upward motion of the hands. The skin better absorbs the product that way.

Thirdly, a good skin care regimen includes a facial mask product. Clay is good, but so is avocado. This type of product is able to exfoliate the skin and birth newer and fresher looking skin.

Furthermore, a good eye cream helps the skin around the eyes to stay soft and supple. It is said that the eyes are what people look at when they are trying to guess the age of a person. The little crow lines and creases there give away a whole lot more than most people think.

Lastly, a good scar solution is needed to heal the marks that sometimes inevitably come from occasional zits. I recommend Mederma.

These products are essential to one's skin care regimen. However, products are not the only things needed to get perfect skin to emerge. The two most important things are discipline and positive affirmations. A person may have an excellent product that works against scars, but without the discipline that is required to constantly apply the product three times per day, it's useless.
