Reasons Why I'd Choose Chocolate Over a Boyfriend Any Day

Love is one of the most precious things in the world, in my opinion. Nothing beats that feeling when you first fall in love with someone, and it's fresh and new. The downside to falling in love is just that: falling. The laws of gravity and physics tell us that when something falls, it eventually hits the ground. That's what I think falling out of love is: hitting the ground. As with any break up, a lot of people turn to food, in particular, chocolate. Chocolate has been around for thousands of years, going all the way back to the Mayans. Any food that's survived that long most be good! Being a chocoholic myself, I'd honestly rather have a chocolate bar than deal with the drama of a relationship any day of the week.

There are countless reasons why chocolate is better than a boyfriend in my opinion. One of them is that chocolate never forgets to call you, like a boyfriend might. You will never have an argument with pint of double chocolate chip ice cream because it promised to call you back and then fell asleep. In fact, after eating the pint of ice cream, you'll probably nod off yourself. Relationships are complicated and difficult, and sometimes it's nice to have something that's there simply for your own pleasure.

That brings me to another point; chocolate always knows how to make you feel better. From heartbreak, to PMS, to a plain old sweet tooth craving, chocolate will soothe them all. After a few bites of a Hershey bar with almonds, you'll forget why you were so mad at what's-his-face in the first place. You will never get frustrated because chocolate doesn't understand why you're mad, or even notice. Chocolate is always there for you, to soothe you and say all the things that you needed to hear. Plus the chemicals it releases in your brain when you eat it are enough to put a smile on anyone's face.
