The Bourne Ultimatum: Like The First Two? You'll LoveThis, Too

If you're familiar with the first two Bourne movies (Identity and Supremacy) then you know exactly what you're getting into here. The look and feel has remained constant across the whole trilogy, something not easily done, which adds a lot to the feeling on continuity. If you haven't seen the first two films then I'd highly recommend you wait on this and go back to watch those first as you'll be completely lost and will miss out on a lot of the story.

The Bourne Ultimatum is every great action movie put together plus a case of ADD for good measure. This is one fast paced movie that literally starts mid-chase for Bourne as he traverses Europe in search of answers. Ultimatum presents Bourne looking for answers to his past and just as always he won't stop until he has what he wants. The fight scenes are excellent as well as some intense road chases that while seemingly impossible to survive prove Bourne to be the most resourceful action hero these days. The story flows pretty well and if you haven't forgotten too much you'll do just fine. Once again we have the damsel in distress for awhile which Bourne fights to use as redemption for the loss of his love from Supremacy. This is all mixed in with Bourne's pursuit of the evil G-men while avoiding the "assets" sent after him. While it's a little tough to believe the good G-men that are more than willing to help Bourne along the way it's easily forgivable amidst all the rest of the fun.

You'll recognize most the cast here along with a few new faces thrown in to make up for those lost along the way. Everyone does a great job and pulls off their roles nicely. The Deputy Director character, played by David Strathairn, wouldn't have been my top pick as he's not too convincing as a tough guy. Just wait for the scene where he's carrying around his pistol to see what I mean. Matt Damon yet again pulls off a great troubled, dangerous man that wants things to be right again. Really no weak links here in the movie overall.
