People with disabilities often look for other means of copping with their disabilities. People who are collecting SSI (Supplemental Security Income) or SS (Social Security Income) have the desire to work. Most people collecting Social Security Benefits are often afraid of going back to work. Some fear of losing their benefits if they choose to go back to work or find a job. If you're collecting SSI, SS, or SSDI you may return to work and not lose your benefits. Social Security has a program called the trial work period, this program allows you to work and keep your benefits. For the first nine months during the trial work period, you can collect your full benefits. If you're working during this trial work period you can earn as much money as you wish during this period. You will collect your earnings from work and still collect your full benefits.

When your trial period ends you may still collect your full benefits. After your trial period ends you will enter the 36-month extended period of eligibility. During this period you usually can make no more than nine hundred dollars a month or you will lose all benefits. Keeping all your receipts while working can help you keep your full benefits. The work expenses you have as a result of your disability will be deducted, which will help you keep your benefits.

When searching Social Security for help in finding a job, you may find yourself being scammed. There are many websites out there offering people with disabilities to enter back into the work force or receive a grant from Social Security. These websites will offer you a one-time fee for a CD with information about Social Security Grants. These sites will only take your money and you may not receive any help. When having concerns about Social Security Benefits, always contact Social Security. If you ever encounter a website asking for small fees for information or help, you're at the wrong website. Information or help from Social Security will not cost you any money.
