It's the YouTube video everyone is talking about today: Miss Teen South Carolina Lauren Caitlin Upton, third-runner-up in the Miss Teen USA pageant, obliterating a simple question from the judges.

If you haven't been one of the 2 million people to view the video, it is painful. But to truly appreciate the answer, here is the transcription:

Question:

"Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?"

Lauren Caitlin Upton:

"I personally believe... that U.S. Americans are unable to do so... because...

"Uh... some people out there in our nation don't have maps...

"And... uh... I believe that our education, like such as in South Africa and... uh... the Iraq, everywhere, like, such as...

"And I believe that they should...

"Our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S... uh...

"Or, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries...

"So we will be able to build up our future... for our [children]."

Miss Teen USA host Mario Lopez: "Thank you very much, South Carolina."

I think this is a perfect example of what IS wrong with our educational system: coaching children to give predetermined answers to questions through memorization and standardized patterns, as opposed to teaching them to be critical thinkers who can respond to most any intellectual challenge thrown at them. She was obviously coached to say one thing, but the question threw her off guard and she was unable to shift gears and come up with her own answer to the question.

Caitlin Upton is a bright, beautiful and charming young lady who may have suffered from some test anxiety but certainly rose above it. I wish there were a fan club that her admirers can join.

Yes and I bet the only inmigrants are latinos, asian etc, all but white isnt? Well I have to tell you almost all americans are inmigrants unles you are Native Indian from one of the beautiful tribes that are almost extinct and used to roam this lands long before Colombus discovered Americas. And yes I know there is some theories about the Vikings visiting Americas before Colombus too.

Possible answer: First US Citizens call themselves Americans. Hellooo? America is a CONTINENT not a country so all Mexicans,Brasilians, Cubans, Colombians, Venezuelan, Canadians Etc Etc are Americans. So the answer could had been: The educational system in countries of the american continent such as Mexico and Peru etc, that are underdeveloped countries is really poor, so I can understand the dificulty for those people to be able to find US in the world map. I think our education in the US, should help these countries, so we will be able to build up our future for our childrens in the AMERICAN CONTINENT. Now this way she would had been called tricky bimbo instead of stupid, as we know that the us educational system sucks, but well she needed to impress the jury didnt she?

It's a very relevant question to which many americans need an answer. Simply put americans are ignorant and quite possibly stupid. The majority of you only focus on the four-block radius you live in and more annoying, your obsession with your silly celebs. That's why you're shocked when people fly planes into your buildings. Leave MTV for a second and read a book.

O.k. let's not be rough on her now, just because us americans are located in western europe does not entitle us to give her such a hard time. I blame the Iraq, South Africa and the Asian Countries for all the problems we got now!!! I just wonder whether there's a connection between our president and this girl?
