Want to paint an accent wall in your child's bedroom, but need a few ideas? Here are some simple and whimsical ideas for interactive accent walls in a children's bedroom. You might even find these accent wall ideas work well in many other rooms in your home.

Magnetic Accent Wall

Try rolling on a coat of magnetic paint to your accent wall. You can of course top off the magnetic paint on your accent wall with any color you want, but the magnetic part now makes this an interactive accent wall for a children's bedroom.

To make this fun accent wall idea interactive try loading up the wall with magnets and artwork. While you are painting have the kids work on a bunch of art pieces. Give them all squares of colored paper in the same size.

Once the paint is dry and the artwork is finished you can hang the children's artwork on the wall with simple everyday magnets in a grid pattern! The kids can change their accent wall look as quickly as they make new art!

By the way, this is a great accent wall for a home office as well!

Chalk Board Accent Wall

The chalkboard accent wall has to be my absolute favorite accent wall for a child's bedroom. Simply buy your chalkboard paint at your local home improvement store. Always follow the package directions as these can differ with different products.

Supply the kids with an inexpensive bucket of chalk and let them create their own interactive accent wall! The sky is the limit for kids here.

Cork Board Accent Wall

Ok, this one is a super easy idea for a fun and interactive accent wall in a child's bedroom. You can buy sheet soft corkboard at your local art store, craft store, and even that trusty old hardware store.

You have a few choices for adhering the corkboard rolls. Of course there is always spray on adhesive, but this one is rather permanent.

I recommend using a staple gun. You can place a staple in the corners of each piece and space them as needed.

Now, use push pins to decorate the cork board accent wall with artwork made by the ids, poster's awards, magazine cut outs and more! Older kids will love this one and you will love the damage it saves the underlying wall from!
