The time has come for thousands of young actors to start considering where they want to get their acting training from. And where are they going to do this? Well, at theater conservatories, for the most part. If you are wanting to become a professional actor, with the best training the world can offer, then you will want to go to a theater conservatory. But which ones should you go to? Where can you go to be tended to as a young, budding actor? Well, in this article I have outlined the top three acting conservatories in America. Hopefully, you will find all the information you need and be inspired to not only dream of becoming an actor, but actually taking the steps to be one.

THE JUILLIARD SCHOOL:

I am sure that everyone has heard of The Juilliard School. It has become popularized in movies and by reputation. However, outside of the Hollywood "hype," Juilliard is one of the nations top acting conservatories. It is here that some of the greatest talent is developed and ultimately released into the world. If you are searching for the greatest training that you can obtain, than Juilliard is where you should apply. However, be prepared for months of preparation for your entrance audition. Each year there are approximately 1,000 applicants for the drama department. Yet, only 18 of these candidates will be chosen as the freshman class.

What I love about Juilliard is the journey in which their actors are taken on. If you are chosen, you and 17 other individuals will work together for the entire four years at Juilliard. You literally move throughout your entire college years with the same class, allowing you to form a bond with these other actors that will be unlike anything else you will ever experience. The type of training you will take on is truly unique to the Juilliard School, and you will not experience this form of training anywhere else in the world.

In conclusion, I am including an excerpt from the Juilliard website that I feel fully explains what the drama division at Juilliard is all about:
