Stress is the number one health issue among society, ranging from young age to senior citizens. Many people are aware that this is a problem, but are inattentive to the cause of stress.

These stress factors are broken into three different categories:

a.) Frustrations: This is when meeting these needs and accomplishing goals that are personal becomes preventable.

b.) Conflicts: Two or more needs are not compatible, or at times, it can become a choice between two favorable options.

c.) Pressures: Meeting expectation of others or the requirements that an individual place on oneself.

The signs and symptoms of stress are divided into intellectual, emotional, physical, and behavior symptoms.

a.) Intellectual symptoms: A few of these symptoms may include problems with the memory, making difficult decision, confusion, poor judgment, and loss of objectivity.

b.) Emotional symptoms: These symptoms are how stress can make individuals feel. The signs include lacking in confidence, moodiness and hypersensitivity, resentment, depression, and anger.

c.) Physical symptoms (Impact on the Body): The physical signs of stress may include headaches, problems with the digestive system, weight gain or loss, asthma or shortness of breath, and fatigue.

d.) Behavior symptoms (Impact on the Behavior): These problems may include drug and/or alcohol use increase, overreacting to the problems that are not expected, and neglecting one's responsibilities.

Many people are not aware of the different types of stress that exist. There are three different types of stress: acute, episodic acute, chronic stress. Here is an explanation of each stress type:

a.) Acute: This is the most common as well as the most known form of stress. The acute stress effects are usually on a short-termed basis; therefore it does not result in a permanent damage to the body.

b.) Episodic acute: In general, this is a result of in living in a chaotic life, usually dealing with many stressful situations. This is mainly habitual that people may find it very difficult to change his/her lifestyles until they suffer severe physical symptoms.
