Everybody loves parties; however, nobody has the time to actually plan it out, and nobody wants to miss the action. Lots of people panic at the thought of inviting someone over to host a party. Most of the time, the people hate to clean up after the party, plan the party, and miss the action. If you love to plan for parties, this is a great job to get started on. Your job duties are to plan, create, and organize everything for every different-themed party you may be asked to plan. The advantages of this business are that you can use your creativity, and go to parties all the time! One of the most obvious disadvantages is that you may find yourself working more on the weekends and missing some of the fun with your friends. Also, you'll have to do a lot of the preparation and cleaning.

If you decide to explore in this business area, you'll need to be a people person, and like to go to parties. You need to be dealing with everyone from the cranky, and annoyed parent to the peppy cheerleading teens. You'll learn how to deal with sticky messes, and pick up some leadership skills!

There isn't much that you need in preparation for this business. All you really need is a phone, a planner for planning parties, and writing in events. Generally, the start-up costs should be quite minimal. Depending on the party that you choose to do, there will be different materials and things that you need. Your client should cover the food costs, and other materials. Remember to charge them extra for anything else that you will need to purchase out of your own money. Most of the time, advertising and what not included, the costs of starting this business up should not pass $800 - that is, if you're going to purchase expensive advertisement, and party materials.

There are many different advertising ideas that you can do. Advertising will generally cost the most although there are many different ways you can advertise for free. Some ideas are distributing fliers and brochures. You can plan free parties for a family member or a friend who will spread the word. Word of mouth is very powerful advertisement!
