When I was in high school a friend and I used to raid beehives and take the honey. We got stung but I never had a bad reaction. At the age of twenty I was stung by a wasp in the armpit and almost died. Four or five years later, while fighting fires in Oregon I was stung and had to have an adrenaline shot in the chest. Ant-bites, particularly fire ants, would make my arms and legs swell up and itch for up to a week. Those types of reactions are caused when the body releases too much histamine, particularly from the "mast cells." Simplified, it's an overreaction to trauma. I found Qi Gong, from traditional Chinese medicine, was a good way to deal with trauma on many levels. I found it helpful for faster healing with broken bones, fewer colds and the flu, dental work without anesthesia and emotional trauma like shorthanded long distance sailing in bad conditions. About ten years ago we purchased a QGM (Qi Gong Machine) that produces the same low frequency waves that Qi Gong and other hands on healers have scientifically been shown to be able to produce.
While building our house I found out too late that I was standing on top of a fire ant hill. With antihistamines in hand I plugged in the QGM and put it on my ankles. I used it on the twenty-minute cycle and had no swelling and the bites didn't itch the next day. During the house construction I was bitten by fire ants various times and if possible to put the machine on within fifteen minutes, there was no reaction. The longer I waited to use the machine the worse the reaction. At one time while mixing cement, I was stung on the neck at the carotid artery by a wasp. I was able use the machine immediately and had no reaction. All of these were personal experiences and no medication of any kind was taken. I attribute part of the reduced reactions to changes in diet and lifestyle.
This summer there have been three different types of trauma that have had favorable outcomes by using the machine.
