The Microsoft wireless keyboard 3000 is the bomb! We brought cat into the house a few months back. Since he began ruling our house, he has destroyed 3 keyboards. I prefer wireless keyboards because of their versatility and ease of use. I am an iced tea drinker and usually have a glass with me when I am at home. It seems that every time I fail to take the glass back to the kitchen, the cat knocks it over onto my keyboard.

I asked my computer guru friend if it was ok to put a wireless keyboard into the dishwasher, as I knew that a traditional keyboard could be cleaned that way. He did not know, he had never tried it. I still have that keyboard; but have not put it in the dishwasher; maybe I will try it and see what happens.

The first time it happened, I was livid. That crazy cat knocked a whole glass of tea onto my keyboard while I slept. The keyboard eventually dried out, but the keys would stick and it was more trouble to type than it was worth. I replaced it with a low priced wireless keyboard and mouse duo. The next day it happened again. I was ready to toss the cat into oncoming traffic! I replaced the keyboard with a more expensive model, the Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 3000, and mouse combination.

This keyboard is designed with "spillproof technology." I do not know what that means, but it works! I have had this keyboard for about three months, I just got up to go to the restroom, and my daughter started screaming that the cat spilled yet another glass of tea on my keyboard. I was gone less than 2 minutes. Keeping my children out of trouble when they were babies was less stressful than this cat.

I told my daughter to turn the keyboard upside down and hurried to pull up my jeans and try to do damage control. I shook the keyboard out, used a towel to dry off the liquid I could see, and brought it back to the computer desk to test it. Guess what? Not even one key stuck. It types perfectly! This happened less than five minutes ago and I am using it to type this article.

Angela, I have never had this problem. I have always put my drinks on my file cabinet away from the keyboard (even if my drink fell off the cabinet, it would have to fly three feet to even hit my desk). It only takes a few seconds to reach over and get my drink and I normally take a drink facing away from my computer. I figured it is much less expensive to spend a few seconds doing that than to buy a new keyboard. (Also, I do not have a cat to throw into traffic or any dogs to feed the cat to.)
