Worst Bridal Shower Gifts

Some bridal showers come with a theme and while that can be helpful it may not always produce the best gifts. Then again, even bridal showers with no theme can spawn some pretty strange, bad or tasteless presents. Here are a few of the more memorable bridal shower gifts.

If it wasn't bad enough getting a pair of cotton pajamas where the butt part actually button, you know, those drop drawer types, the gift was from the bride-to-be's mother-in-law. Another great mother-in-law bridal shower story is the one where the bride received a bunch of sexy, tiny lingerie items, complete with a handwritten note from mom-in-law saying something along the lines of "just a little something for you to start making babies, ASAP!' Or another gift that was received at a bridal shower from a mom-in-law was "Cooking for Dummies"; needless to say it was not really an appreciated gift.

And no matter what the intention it is not a good idea to give diet pills to the bride explaining that you just knew she wanted to be in shape for her honeymoon. Along those same lines, giving lingerie, swim wear or actually anything that can be worn, in a size smaller than the bride wears is considered tacky. Better make that a size smaller or larger, as either way the implication is mean spirited.

It may also not be the best idea to get the future bride a shirt with Nervous Bride Alert Proceed With Caution or Bride Retains the right to change her mind at any time so keep the aisles clear! Funny and cute but not necessarily appreciated.
