There's nothing quite like spending a cool fall Sunday morning crammed into a restaurant watching NFL football. All year I count down the days until the season begins and I can waste one of my weekend days eating hot wings and watching the game. In Virginia Beach, you will find two great bars to do this in and they're both across the street from each other!

The first place I recommend for watching the game is Lendy's Café and Raw bar. It is located at the intersection of General Booth Boulevard and Dam Neck Road. It's in the back corner of the Food Lion shopping center. On Sunday's they have all of the NFL games on different TV's. The part I like best about the restaurant is that they label the TV's with which game will be on it so you can pick a seat within the viewing area of the game you want to watch. On Sunday's you cannot beat Lendy's ten cent wings and a pitcher of beer. If wings aren't your fancy, they have an extensive menu of goodies for you to choose. Their wings are the best you will find in Hampton Roads. You have to make sure to get to the restaurant at least thirty minutes before the game begins as seating is limited and fills up quickly. The staff here is the friendliest around and you won't get better service.

The second place I recommend is Parlay's. This restaurant is also located at the intersection of General Booth Boulevard and Dam Neck Road. It is in the Farm Fresh shopping center. Parlay's is connected to Zero's and serves all of their subs plus some appetizers of their own. Their food isn't anything special but they make great snacks and their beer is cheap on Sunday's too. They have TV's lining both walls and a flat screen above the bar. You can be sure to catch all of the gives as they televise all of them that are being played that day. If you get bored, you can play pool or waste some change on their game machine at the bar.

I recommend either Parlay's or Lendy's for game day. College Saturday's are also good times to visit and the restaurants don't fill up quite as quickly as NFL day. Just make sure to wear your favorite colors and be prepared to defend your team against other football fans.

There is also a bar / restaurant in the same area called Awful Arthur's. They are near the Kmart behind Taco Bell on General Booth. Plenty of room, good specials and a fun place. Lendy's & Parlay's are cool too, but I wonder how they can be thrown into the mix without AA's being mentioned? I guess it is just preference.

I still have no clue about this game, but I watch it occasionally and end up bugging my husband as I ask him what the rules of the game are! Sophie
