It's very common these days for Dads to be as much into games as their children are. A generation of gamers are coming of age and are now raising second, possibly even third, generation of people who love to play games. Here are some ideas for Father's Day gifts for the gaming Dad.
If you have a big budget for Father's Day, think of getting Dad the next generation in console or handheld gaming. An Xbox 360 is a gift he will truly cherish. The nextgen console from Microsoft not only plays games but can play DVDs and music CDs. You can connect your MP3 player to listen to music or your digital camera to view pictures through the Xbox 360. X-Men the official game for X-Men: The Last Stand and Call of Duty 2: Game of the Year Edition are just two of the new releases for the Xbox 360.
If the budget is a little smaller, there is always the next generation of handheld games. Both the PlayStation PSP and the Nintendo DS have great games that allow for multi-player action. The PSP has the added bonus of UMD formatted movies and the ability to play music and videos from a memory card.
There are some great choices for the gaming Dad that don't cost a lot of money. There are plenty of new video game titles for under $20. Chances are that with so many video game titles out there of something that Dad was looking forward to playing and hasn't bought yet.
Accessories are always a good gift. A new wireless controller is a very thoughtful way to show you want Dad to enjoy his gaming time. Not all wireless controllers are created equal, so you may want to research your choice of brand. Carrying cases, memory cards, rumble packs or console skins are all good choices for a gift for the gaming Dad.
If you can't decide what to get Dad, a gift certificate is a great alternative. This way Dad can shop for what he really wants. He'll appreciate the time he gets to spend in the video game store and that he gets to buy himself something.
