Jose Ole Skillet Meals Review

Easy to Prepare, but How Does it Taste?

I love easy to prepare products. I also love Mexican food. I even like Jose Ole products. So when I stumbled upon Jose Ole Skillet Meals, in my grocery store, I was very interested in trying the product. A few weeks after the product was released, I had the chance to try Jose Ole Skillet
Meals. The product was on sale and I had a coupon. I simply couldn't pass up the low price on this easy to prepare meal. As soon as I took the product out of the freezer case, I could smell the delicious aroma of Mexican spices. I put the product in my cart and made my way to the check out. A few days later, my boyfriend and I were both too busy to create a meal from scratch, so we decided to try the Jose Ole Skillet Meal we had purchased.

Jose Ole Skillet Meals Review: Ease of Preparation

Jose Ole Skillet Meals were unbelievably easy to prepare. All I had to do was pour the contents of the bag into a large skillet, cover, and cook over medium heat. Jose Ole Skillet Meals cook in less than 10 minutes. I was amazed that a nice creamy sauce has developed from the ingredients I had poured into the skillet. It was rich and looked and smelled delicious. The flavor I had chosen was Monterey Chicken which had a creamy Monterey cheese sauce with tomatoes, black beans, chicken, and broccoli. It looked so delicious and I couldn't wait for the first bite.

Jose Ole Skillet Meals Review: Taste

The sauce was indeed creamy and delicious. The Mexican flavors were authentic (except for the broccoli), but one bite of chicken and I was immediately turned off. Not only were the chicken pieces sparse, but they were extremely fatty. It was absolutely disgusting. If I had paid full price for this product, I would have been really upset. I was even upset to have paid $2.50 for this product.

Jose Ole Skillet Meals Review: Quality of Ingredients

Everything in Jose Ole Skillet Meals is high quality, except for the chicken. Honestly, Jose Ole Meals would be better if they just left out the chicken. But, again, the chicken is very fatty and almost tastes like canned chicken.

That guy listed as Mike Merritt is the Brand Manager for Birds Eye. What a pathetic post. Go back to playing in your rock band...

I haven't tried the chicken one yet, but I have had the steak fajita meal. The flavors were very nice, the peppers stayed crisp, and the meat was unbelievably tender. I also caught it on sale and had a coupon, but can say it was well worth the price. For a quick and easy meal, I'd do it again in a pinch.

I have to disagree. I've tried one of the chicken dinners and my husband and I were both impressed with the quality of the chicken. The beef fajitas were also excellent.

I don't think I've tried Jose Ole products before, but after reading your review I know I am not missing anyway. Fatty chicken makes me feel sick! Sophie
