Wandering, not knowing what to do.
Running out of things to do and say,
And knowing that you feel it too.
Maybe it's not me,
And maybe it's not you.
But I'm not sure that I'm ready
To up and say it's through.
I've loved you from the start,
One glance was all it took.
I gave you all my heart,
You read it like a book.
Decisions had been made,
It was always and forever.
But who knew that this would fade,
Much like the sunny weather.
We've endured through good and bad,
As well as thick and thin.
We've been both happy and sad,
And angry if we don't win.
But we began to discover,
As time passed all too quick,
That things we knew not about our lover
Would surely make us sick.
It now seems that we're growing,
Negative direction we're heading.
It kills me every day knowing
That we're running towards an ending.
Somehow it feels so wrong,
Even if it feels so right.
I hope that this doesn't last long,
I pray soon I can end my plight.
Tonight I sit here breathless,
Tears falling viscously like rain.
I feel so vulnerable and helpless,
I'd give anything to stop the pain.
I can't begin to contemplate
Of anything else to say.
But if I could just state,
I don't want it this way.
I love you.
