I love reading fashion magazines. It is a great way to find out about the current and upcoming trends in fashion, hair and makeup. Of course, I don't follow all of these trends. Some I think are absurd looking. Some I can not afford. Some would not work on my body frame. Yet, there is always a few that I do like and will try to emulate.

My favorite fashion magazine is Allure. In a recent issue, they gave a preview of what they believed would be the current trends for the fall of 2007. As I write this, it is still August. Areas of the country is in the middle of a heat wave. Here in Ohio, we are actually having unseasonable cool temperatures. I guess, that is why fall fashion trends are an interest to me, even though I know by the end of the week the temps may be soaring once, again.

Yet, if the calendar and the temperatures are misleading you into thinking that fall is still a long ways off, just head to your favorite department stores. The summer stuff is being marked down and slowly are disappearing and out is coming the fall items.

If you want to get ahead of the game and look fashionable according to the New York editors of Allure magazine. Here is some things you need to know.

1. Like lipstick? Then you need to buy some new red lip colors. By red, I mean really red. Gone are the pale pinks and the bare lips. The new colors for fall are reds that range from the color poppy to velvety burgundy.

2. Do you like lining your eyes? Do you like liquid eye liner? If you are all ready using it, you are ahead the season. Personally, this is one trend, I'll ignore. I like my pencil eyeliner.

3. Have shoulder length or longer hair? Then you need to practice twisting it into braids, buns and knots.

4. Don't like the look of the up do? Don't fret the classic ponytail is still popular. Just make it a lower one. They say the low pony tails are a more grown up look to a popular style.

5. Like the look of shine and sheen? Don't fret, that look is still popular come fall. Make up artists are still loving the highlighted bronze and silvery look. You can add it to your cheeks, eyelids or if you have a plunging neckline add some bronzer onto your neck and chest area.

Takeaways
  • Red lipsticks are really hot this fall. By red, they means reds from the poppy to the burgundies.
  • Liquid eyeliners are also going to be really popular.
  • Hate the look of straight hair? Then you will like the fact that wavy hair is the new in style.

Great article! I will stick to my eye liner pencil and mauve lipstick. Red lipstick can be really pretty on the right face, just not mine.

Great tips, I am excited because most these looks work for me. Although thanks for pointing out that we don't have to follow them if they don't.

I wish I could wear eyeliner. But I always end up stabbing myself in the eye and it never seems to go on properly! Sophie
