Greenville Avenue is one of the hottest club scenes in Dallas, Texas. Like Deep Ellum, it offers a wide range of bars, many of which feature live music. There are also plenty of restaurants to choose from on Greenville Avenue. Lower Greenville tends to be the favorite hot spot of both natives and visiting tourists, although Upper Greenville also provides some excellent amenities.

Finding a place to park on Greenville Avenue can be tough when the crowds arrive on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. However, the bars are all within walking distance of one another. So the best way to cope is probably to park a ways off, and walk in, especially if you plan to go bar hopping. The weather in Dallas, Texas is pleasant in the evenings during the spring, summer. It never gets very cold in the fall or winter, but it can be rainy. So if you're traveling to Dallas, Texas during the months of September through February, be sure to bring an umbrella.

The bars on Greenville Ave. are usually very smoky, but several have outdoor seating. Generally, bars are open until 2 am.

Libertine Bar

The Libertine, located at 2101 Greenville Ave. in Dallas, Texas, is run by the same people who own the highly successful Meridian Room in Fair Park. A long narrow bar with a casual pub atmosphere, the Libertine serves a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, including a wide array of beers and cocktails. There is also a good, albeit rather limited menu. Libertine regulars recommend the Flat Iron Steak which comes either with asparagus or polenta fries with a tangy dipping sauce. A vegetarian friendly Mediterranean plate is also available, featuring feta, hummus, grapes and olives served with pita bread and roasted garlic. Brunch is also served, with offerings such as Eggs Benedict and mimosas.

The Libertine Bar also offers music from great artists such as Rocket from the Crypt, People Under the Stairs, Andre Williams, Fu Manchu, The Police, and The Afghan Whigs. Happy hour is from 4 pm to 7 pm every day.
