Senator Craig is the Victim of Homophobia!

Senator Larry Craig of Idaho is in a lot of hot water for an offense of unspeakable proportions. Here's the facts of the case. Senator Craig was arrested on a charge or disorderly contact for stamping his foot in a bathroom stall. It's amazing we allow such a monster to walk free on the planet, no less serve in the United States Senate! Yes I am being facetious. To be fair, he stomped his foot in a public restroom in a manner that suggested to an undercover officer that he was looking for sex. Mind you, if the Senator had walked up to a girl in a bar and asked her if she would be so kind as to shtoop his brains out, the Senator likely would have never been brought up on any sort of charges. This was different though. The Senator wasn't in a bar. He was in a men's restroom. That means the Senator wasn't looking for sex. He was looking for homosexual sex, the greatest crime of all. Mind you, he didn't get homosexual sex. He didn't expose himself, and he did not touch the officer in a lewd manner. He simply stamped his foot a little. Apparently that's how gay men on the sly let each other know they desire sex.

The Senator denies he is gay and he denies that he was soliciting sex. The question that must be posed is this; "Why does it even matter?" The fact is that homosexuals are relegated to the dark parts of society and treated like second class citizens. We live in a society where straight men can openly ogle naked women in a strip bar and yet the Senator cannot stamp his foot in an effort to discover whether the person in the adjoining stall might be interested in finding a place to have an encounter. Granted, most assume that the encounter would have taken place in a public place, the bathroom of the airport, but we can't truly know that as it never got that far. Another word on strip clubs; women can enter a strip club featuring female dancers, but men are usually forbidden from entering a strip club featuring male dancers. If not for homophobia in our society, why do you think that might be.
