If you are looking for a small wreath that is simple to make, doesn't require a lot of supplies, and is lightweight, this may be the wreath you have been searching for. You can make these in any size and with any material that will match your Fall decorations. These low-cost wreaths make an excellent project for spending nights in front of the fireplace putting together and some of the items required to make it you may already have on hand around the house; especially if you do a lot of sewing. Here's what you'll need:

How to Make an Inexpensive Fall Wreath Using Fabric--

Supplies List for Your New Wreath

One Heavy Gauge Wire Coat-Hanger

Pliers (For straightening out the coat-hanger and forming the loop for hanging.)

Fall Material (Either cut into four inch strips to tie around the wire; or cut into a strip that is five inches wide and three times as long as your straightened coat-hanger.)

Sewing Machine (If you are using the longer strip of material.)

Scissors

Measuring Tape

Straight Pins

Fall Wreath Using Fabric--Prepare the Coat-Hanger

Start by using the pliers and untwisting the coat-hanger. Once you have it opened, grab the wire where it is still bent on each side and straighten. Leave the hook and the twisty ends as they are. You will use them to finish off the wreath. Getting the hanger straightened is not hard to do and requires very little effort on your part. Be careful when you flatten the curves out of the hanger or you may snap it if you use too much force.

Fall Wreath Using Fabric--Cutting the Fabric

Decide how you want to make the wreath. If you want to use a lot of different Fall colors and patterns, you can use pieces of fabric cut into four inch strips. Keep in mind that in order to have a full wreath you will need at least two hundred pieces. If you have four different colors or patterns of material you want to use you can cut fifty of each one. You can work on cutting these up ahead of time so that you'll have them ready when you want to put your wreath together. If you cut the pieces early make sure to keep them separated.

Fabric wreaths are great for all the doors of your home.
