Barnegat, New Jersey will celebrate it's annual Pirates Day on Saturday, September 8, 2007 from 9 AM to 4 PM. Located in the historic area near Route 9 and Bay Avenue, Pirates Day is a fun family outing that Barnegat residents look forward to all year. Pirate's Day in Barnegat has been an annual event for more than ten years and just keeps getting better.

Pirate's Day is mainly a street fair featuring great food, live music, vendors and pirate themed activities for the kids. There is plenty of information to be gleaned from attending the Pirate's Day celebration as well. Local organizations and representatives will have a multitude of tables set up with town representatives available to provide residents with information on the township schools, recreation activities and the many programs in place for adults and seniors.

Children of all ages will thoroughly enjoy Pirate's Day. The H.M.S Valhalla, which is a south Jersey reenactment group, will be on hand to perform pirate duels and other pirate themed scenes. Captain Charles Black and his loyal pirate crew will have makeup and washable tattoos to transform the youngsters into buccaneers for the day. There will be a replication of a pirate ship making it's way around the downtown Barnegat streets which will surely elicit squeals of joy and enthusiasm from the youngest pirates.

Adults will enjoy shopping at the vendor tables which are expected to total more than one hundred this year. Live music will add to the festivities of the day. The Verdict will be performing, which is a unique band that has reggae and Caribbean flavors. Following The Verdict, will be The Pickles which performs hits from the 1980's and 1990's. The final act performing at Pirate's Day will be Boot Hill Express, a Southern Rock cover band who will entertain the crowd with hits from Lynyrd Skynyrd.
