GLEE is the newest social networking community created by the New York City based company Community Connect. Community Connect had launched Asian Ave, Migente, and Black Planet respectively appealing to the Asian, Latino, and Black communities. Taking a look at GLEE, I see that the format isn't different from that of Community Connect's other online websites in the terms of looks and features. GLEE is short for "Gay, Lesbian, & Everyone Else" as membership is open to everybody regardless of ethnicity and sexual preference.

I had joined to check the site out as a means of possibly networking in the future. The one special thing is that GLEE seems to be more diverse than the three other social networking sites from Community Connect. On GLEE, you can meet people whom are straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, or asexual. This community seems to be a safe online place for people of other sexual preferences to talk and gather. I have met all sorts of interesting people of different ethnicities and sexual orientations.

Good deals of people that have joined are transsexual. GLEE has given them a forum where they can gather and talk like everybody else. Like Community Connect's other sites, GLEE has a working partnership with Monster as they constantly have job openings posted on the page upon putting in your password and username.

However, like the other three sites the personal page format is no different as they followed the route of MySpace. You have your typical photo album, your mini blog, your personal message, a page log, and a music player. It looks to be nothing special and nothing different from what MySpace offers every member. Many registered members on GLEE do have a MySpace address listed on their pages.

The concept is a good one but there's a lot to be desired. Like Asian Ave, GLEE has the option of starting or joining your own clubs that serve as a mini-community. That's a popular feature on GLEE as members can get together over common interests such as games, dating, dining, travel, and so forth.
