Tacoma, Washington is located about 30 miles south of Seattle. The city of Tacoma has undergone many changes over the past couple of decades and there are now many wonderful and exciting things to do in Tacoma. The Museum of Glass
Opened in July of 2002, The Museum of Glass is one of Tacoma's most well known claims to fame. The exhibitions in this beautiful, contemporary museum feature a wide variety of works executed in glass. The exhibits change frequently and there is continually new and beautiful glass art to view on display. In addition to the exhibitions, the Museum of Glass features the Hot Shop Amphitheater where ongoing glass blowing demonstrations are given. The Museum also offers a hands-on art studio for visitors of all ages, a theater which shows films about artists who work with glass, and a store which offers a wide variety of stunning glass objects. The Museum of Glass is located on the Thea Foss Waterway and is part of the Tacoma Museum District. While visiting the museum also be sure to check out the Chihuly Bridge of Glass which features the artwork of renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly.

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium
The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is located in a beautiful setting with gorgeous views of the Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains and Mount Rainier. The zoo and aquarium both offer a wide array of animals and a lot of family and group oriented activities. one of the most interesting activities as the zoo is a fun program that gives you and your family a chance to sleep overnight with the sharks. There are a lot of entertaining and educational things to do at the zoo for both children and adults alike.

The Children's Museum of Tacoma offers a bunch of fun, hands-on activities where children can get involved and learn in an exciting way. This fun and friendly museum is a great place for kids to run around and discover new and exciting things.
