Red Roof Inn at Burlington, North Carolina - Hotel Review

Ahhhh the Red Roof Inn. You've seen them everywhere... white buildings with bright red roofs. Unlike most chains, this one is pretty consistent from city to city. Burlington, NC is no different.

Check in with no reservation was very painless, and the desk gal was all smiles. Burlington is a kinda special place. Everywhere we went during this short road trip people were smiling and bending over backwards to be helpful and friendly. Very

refreshing town. This attitude did carry into the Red Roof Inn.

Our Queen room was airy and done is summer colors. Very upbeat and in keeping with the mood of the residents of Burlington. The bed was pretty comfy too! Softer than most, but not in a worn-out mattress kinda way... don't ya hate the ones with the broken spines that sag in the middle? Well, this wasn't like that. heh.

Red Roof Inn supplies voice mail and data ports in all guest rooms, but if you get the Business King Room it also has an enhanced work area, data port and speaker phone. Local calls are free. We just went with the cheapest smoking room available though as all we needed was a place to crash before driving home. It was just storming to too heavily for that 3 hour drive that night.

Lets see what else... we had a Close-captioned TV with free ESPN, ESPN 2, Showtime, CNN, CNN Headline News, Discovery Channel, Learning Channel, Weather Channel, TNT, TBS, USA, Cartoon Network, ABC, NBC and CBS. Movies and video games are available. The long dresser was adequate since we didn't have a suitcase.... There is a closet with hangers.

The Red Roof Inn bathroom was nothing fancy but very clean, as was the room itself. They supplied soap and shampoo, but no conditioner... which kinda bit it since this wasn't planned and I didn't have my little over-night thingy. I hate trying to comb my hair out with no conditioner. My bad, we wanted cheap. What do you expect for 42 bucks? The towels were fluffy though and there were two big ones. There was plenty of good hot water!

I agree that clean would be my top priority, too. Great review.

Hiya Doc! I think I've stayed a night in a Red Roof Inn just once and don't even remember how it went... Was traveling somewhere in Florida, I think. Dunno if I'll try again if they wouldn't let the cats have their own party in the room while I'm out relaxing at the pool.. ;oP

I've stayed at a Red Roof Inn once outside D.C. It was an emergency stayover when I was on the way to Richmond from NY and my son got really sick to his stomach. We just picked the quickest place we could find to stop. I reviewed it (on another site you and I know quite well). Perhaps I should delete and submit it here. I wasn't quite as impressed with my at this chain as you were.
