After watching the Superliga title match last night (FSC and GolTV didn't have any good game going on) I watched as David Beckham walked off the pitch, injured yet again. I watched the friendly where he originally injured it, very upset as he was key in the end of Real Madrid's season (I was going for them last season) and couldn't find the pace in the last Real Madrid games. Still, the other great players Real Madrid has (Rudd!) managed to secure the championship. With all this going on, is David Beckham worth all the money he is being payed?

I was born in Argentina, and my grandfather was an international footballer for the country. I have grown up watching teams that are top grade and seen many superstars. I played on my school team and always had a talent for the game (It's in the blood as my parents tell me). I remember watching David Beckham on TV when he was runner up for player of the year (1999). Back then he was a marvel to watch and was truly world-class for Manchester United.

Then he got sold to Real Madrid, and changing his uniform number, or whatever jinx was put upon him, he never managed to live up to his expectations. He faded away and has never reached that high again as he did at Manchester United. After England lost in the Fifa World Cup 2006, he resigned as captain and wasn't called up to international play again. That is, until his revival at Real Madrid. At the end of the season, they tried to make Beckham stay, but LA refused to let his out of his contract so he ended up there.

Thousands of fans packed into Giants stadium on David Beckham's first start in the MLS. He had 2 assists and a double assist in that game (even though it should've been a third assist because the first touch missed the net from two feet away. Thats sad.) and his team still managed to lose. Last night, they lost again. Why can't David Beckham be the savior of MLS football? I'll tell you why.
