If you want to be a game show contestant to have your shot at winning money and prizes there are some ways to help your chances. The hard fact is that there are a lot of people who want to be contestants on game shows and it is not easy to do. Out of the thousands that actually want to be on a game show only a few hundred will take the steps to actually come forward and go in for the test and interviews that the shows have. Out of those hundreds less than 10 will pass the initial tests and screening process and after that only a couple will be called back to go on the show. Even in that case you might only be a back up to someone who can not go on. Only a select few make it onto the shows with the chance to win cash and prizes. Even though the chances are slim there are ways to give yourself a better chance.
The best thing you can do is to watch the show and familiarize yourself with the rules and set up of the game show. For example if you want to be a contestant on Jeopardy it is not enough just to have enough knowledge to answer the questions. You have to be quick with a buzzer and know how to wager in a wise manner. Many game shows have board or computer games. Buy the game and play it with family and friends to become familiar with the show and learn how to play it better.
It’s easy to say you can win those prizes when you are sitting at home. But when you are in front of a live audience and millions of viewers watching your adrenaline can get going and it’s a different matter. Learning to speak in front of an audience and becoming comfortable with it is a good way to make sure you will not freeze up when the spotlight is on you.
When you go into an interview be sure to dress nice. Make sure you speak clearly as producers do not want someone on the show who mumbles and can not be understood by the audience or the home viewers. It helps to show a lot of enthusiasm as if you look like you are having a good time the audience will see that. Also make sure to smile a lot the producers of game shows obviously do not want somber contestants on their shows.
