So you're going to throw a party, but you don't know what to do. Don't worry, I've got you covered. Whether it's your first time hosting or just need some ideas, these ten interweaving tips will have your party started before you can say "fiesta!"

1. Budget Your Money: First and foremost, you must decide how much money you are willing to invest in your party. Depending on what is easier for you to commit to, decide on either a price range or an amount that you refuse to exceed, no matter what. It's important that you make this decision first as all other aspects of planning for your party relies on this. Big tip #1: when choosing a budget, remember that food and items like disposable dishes will add up quickly with even the smallest party.

2. Create a Guest List: Before you go any further sit down and make a guest list. When doing so consider not only who you would like to come, but who you think there is a good chance will be able to attend. By inviting only friend and family for you think there is better than a fifty percent chance that they will attend, you will have a better estimate of the size of your party. This is important because the combination of the size of the party and the amount you have budgeted towards it influences the rest of your decisions. This will make more sense when discussing the next tip.

3. Choosing a Party Theme: Now that you know the size of your party, choosing a theme becomes much easier. For example, if you want to have a "sushi" party, or a formal party of some sorts, but your budget is $200 dollars for thirty guests, you might have to reconsider. Can you afford the seafood, other ingredients, and special cooking supplies to make sushi for that many people?

Probably not. On the other hand, you can choose a luau theme and run into another problem altogether. In this instance, costly decorations could come into play in order to get the theme across, decreasing your budget for other things.
