Congratulations to all of the soon-to-be mommy's out there. Finding out you are pregnant can be one of the most exciting times in any ones life. You have a new life growing inside of your body, a bond that nothing else can touch. However, through any woman's pregnancy there will always be ups and downs. The more prepared and aware you are of what to expect, the better you will be able to cope with the good and bad moments.

You've probably found out you're pregnant after missing a menstrual cycle. There are some women though that will still have a very light period when first pregnant. If you are ever in doubt I would recommend purchasing an at home test. Most, such as First Response are 99% accurate and very easy to read. Always confirm any positive results with a doctor. There are many places across America that even offer free pregnancy testing.

Once you've confirmed pregnancy and have an estimated due date, you're in motion for many more months of nurturing your little one.

At this time the tiny fetus is in its early development stages and will be relying on your health for nourishment. From the very beginning of a pregnancy, all mothers-to-be should be cautious when eating and taking care of your body. You're pregnant now and need to answer your food cravings, if you are hungry - eat! No more dieting or worrying about weight gain. At this point you may not look pregnant, but your baby is rapidly growing inside of you. It is inevitable that weight gain will happen.

Most mommy's in their first trimester can't wait for that beautiful belly to begin showing. Have no fears though, this will happen soon enough. Towards the end of the first trimester some women can begin noticing the baby "bulge" beginning. This typically is more noticeable in women who are petite or thin. Larger women may not notice much of a difference until later into the pregnancy. Regardless of your body size, your baby will increase in growth with each week that passes.
