"Islands of Adventure" as we all know is the second theme park for Universal Studios Florida. The place opened around May 28, 1999. But I wasn't that much of a fan of theme parks back then since I've grown out of most of them. When I looked at the ad, I was pretty impressed with the theme Islands of Adventure was going for. There are six "islands" which a different theme which would be appealing to kids. But the one thing that caught my attention was "Marvel Superhero Land".

As a fan of the Marvel Comics franchise, it would be obvious that this place would be my favorite place to go to. Also it's the only place in Islands of Adventure that has an arcade. To me, arcades are a necessity at any theme park. It helps me wind down a bit from all of the excitement unless I'm playing some sort of fighting game. At Marvel Superhero Island, the arcade has plenty of the up-to-date games along with the fighting game classics such as "Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter".

With the coming of Islands of Adventure, "Halloween Horror Nights" would be there instead of the original Universal Studios from now on. I went to the Halloween Horror Nights around October of 2002 which was pretty fun. It was the first time actually checking out Islands of Adventure and attending Halloween Horror Nights for the first time. An online friend wanted me to see her show at "Howling Scream" at Busch Gardens in Tampa. But my reservations were already set for Halloween Horror Nights.

They about five interesting haunted houses that stays true to the theme of each island. I had my shades on during the time of Halloween Haunted nights with three of my friends. This was pretty darn interesting to say at least. I had enjoyed this the event very much. There was a Fear Factor inspired haunted house that was sponsored by the actual show.

There was a Jurassic Park themed haunted house with an old guy near death asking us to help. I'm jokingly replied, "hey you brought that on yourself".
