"Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary." Does this quote by Cecil Beaton define you?

Absolutely - that's why I included it on my website. All throughout my life, especially back in school, I've never had much success at "fitting in" with the crowd. No matter how I tried to be like everyone else, it just never worked for me. Despite my best efforts, aspiring to the status quo always felt unnatural or forced. My thought processes are just way different than most other people I know.

As a result, for a long time I let myself be convinced that there was something wrong with me; but it wasn't until I embraced my individuality that I became truly happy with myself. I had to realize that the same qualities that made me stand out from the crowd weren't holding me back after all, but instead were the keys to my own success and prosperity. Learning to respect our own personal power is an important realization that we all need to come to eventually.

You are so young and have gone through so much already. Tell us about your encounter with homelessness and domestic violence. How did you get the upper hand?

I met a very charming, very beautiful young woman a few years ago, and we instantly hit it off. I fell in love with her, we got along perfectly, and things went so fast that I felt sure we would be together forever. I was counting on it, so I gave up my apartment and moved in with her.
