Flash

One day a boy named Mickey was walking with a bunch of friends when they passed by the bike shop. They saw other kids looking into the shop’s window, so they looked too. The kids were looking at a metallic gold bike that had a big sign above it, “Faster Then Flash Himself! Mickey then looked at the bike and saw the name “Flash” inscribed on the bike handle. They called it flash because the super hero, Flash, was as fast as lightening. Mickey decided that he was going to do whatever it took to get that bike. Mickey went home and asked his parents for money to buy the bike. His parents told him it was too expensive and not worth the money. Mickey had to find another way to get money to buy the bike. 

Mickey asked his neighbors if they had any chores that needed to be done and if they were willing to pay him to do them. Most of his neighbors were willing to pay him for helping them out, so Mickey made a schedule of all the things he was going to do and how much he was getting paid. He then figured out how much the bike was and much money he was making for the various jobs. He decided that he would work every other day and Saturday. The schedule started on Monday and ended on Saturday. He declared Monday, “laundry day”, Wednesdays “walk the dog day”, Fridays “wash the car day” and Saturdays “rake the lawn day”. Mickey was able to figure out that it would take him about two weeks to get enough money for the bike.
