Odd and Highly Unusual September Holidays

September is not usually a month one thinks about in regards to special holidays, but, trust me, they do exist. If you didn't think you had a cause to celebrate something this month, think again and consider these
 unusual monthly holidays.

September 1- Emma M. Nutt Day

Ms. Nutt was the very first female to become a telephone operator. You have her to thank for all those folks who speak in sing-songy voices while connecting you to the wrong number, instead of the one you asked for.

Even worse, she is the forerunner of the dreaded customer service rep.

September 2- National Beheading Day

This is day to stop and remember all those famous people who had their heads-er-removed. Just what sadist came up with this idea for a September "holiday" I don't know, but let's just say there are a lot of sickos with a great deal of tie on their hands.

September 4- Newspaper Carrier Day

Ah, yes! Let's pay tribute to those special individuals who throw the newspaper right in front of the sprinklers or keep neglecting to put it on the porch, like we've asked them to do a dozen times.

September 5- Be Late for Something Day

What a wonderful excuse to have for being tardy for something, like for a dinner with relatives you loathe. If they get upset, simply point out the fact that you were celebrating an official holiday and see if that gets you off the hook.

September 11- No News Is Good News Day

The purpose of this day is to take a temporary hiatus from negative news, meaning that you'll probably have to keep the t.v., internet and radio off and refrain from picking up the newspapers. I guess the old saying that "Ignorance is bliss" holds true on this day, though I personally think most of us would climb the walls if we actually had to cut ourselves off from getting the latest news of the day, even if it ends up depressing us for the rest of the week

September 12- Chocolate Milkshake Day

I can definitely live with this one.. Ditch that diet for the day and run over to Baskin Robbins for a thick, delicious chocolate treat..

September 13- Defy Superstition Day

Happy Cream Filled Doughnut Day!
Aren't Play-Doh Day and Doughnut Day interchangeable if you have the Dunkin Doughnuts Play-Doh Party set?
