When you first start your Web site, aside from quality content, you are going to need back links to rank well in the search engines and get traffic to your Web site. Back links are a large factor in determining the rank of competing Web sites in the search engine rankings. Back links from written articles are completely free and once the article is submitted no work has to be done by you to obtain those back links.

Back links from articles are usually high quality because they are generally from Web sites related to yours. For example you write an article called "Where to buy discount jewelry online" then an informational Web site about buying jewelry online publishes your article on their Web site with a link to your jewelry store in the signature. A Web site about jewelry linking to a jewelry store is an example of a relevant one way link. Relevant one way links are supposedly a huge help in boosting your search engine rankings and will ultimately mean more visitors to you Web site.

Writing a low-quality article is a sure way to limit the number of Web sites who publish your article and give you those great one way back links. An article should be very informative and give the reader exactly what they are looking for. When Web masters read your article they will think it is something of value to their visitors and will publish the article on their Web site.

Also after you write the article you need to submit it to article directories to get as many people and potential publishers and visitors looking at your article. You can start by submitting your article to the Best Articles Directory. However, if you are looking purely for back links from your article you should submit it to as many article directories as you can.

Another thing you need to do is choose the anchor text you are going to want in the link at the bottom of the article. Anchor text is important because it is one of the large factors in determining what a Web site ranks well for in the search engines. Whatever you do make sure you do not use click here as your anchor text. This is a huge rookie mistake.

An example: To buy jewelry online (linked) click here(/linked)
