As part of the 12th Anniversary celebration of the Command and Conquer series, Electronic Arts has decided to let fans download Command & Conquer Gold Edition for free. Both the GDI and Nod campaigns are availble to download at the official website as CD images (ISO files). In addition, the game has been made compatible with Windows XP. However, the free version of Command & Conquer Gold Edition is not compatible with the Internet; so no head-to-head online play.
