I just came across the coolest costume shop I have ever been in! It's located in downtown Plano TX and is called Treasure Box, or some people know it as Dallas Vintage Shop. They have vintage clothing & costumes from just about any decade, century, and era you can think of. They have so much merchandise that the store is jam packed in every nook and cranny ... and there is even stuff hanging from the ceiling. I had a blast digging around in there, and found some really great Halloween costumes for the entire family.

I talked one of the ladies working in the store, and it turns out that Dallas Vintage Shop has quite an interesting story. It was originally named Treasure Box and opened in Feb 2000 as a fundraiser organization for Servants for Christ, International (SFC). They supplied clothing, shoes, computers, and even cash, to multiple outlets such as churches, orphanages, shelters and individuals for about 10 years.

Word soon started to spread and donations came in much faster than they were prepared for, and they were soon overwhelmed with merchandise. A kind hearted businessman heard about the good work they were doing and provided the funding for them to open a thrift store with their overflowing abundance of merchandise. That is how Treasure Box Benefit Thrift got started.
