It has been said that the Ouija board was founded sometime in 1200 B.C. in China. According to Wikipedia.org, the name is said to be derivative from the French and German/Dutch words for "yes" (Oui -Fr, Ja-Germ) . Throughout it's years and evolution, it developed into a common toy found in most toy stores across the world. To the naked third eye, so-to-speak, this just seems like a hoax and tends to collect dust inside an attic trunk. To those who believe in the paranormal, or remotely feel there is something other than matter, flesh, and bone in the universe, this toy has deemed powerful in self research.

However intriguing, this is one of those deemed "toys" much resembling a kinda of medieval board game that actually can elicit more response than anyone would and could imagine. (For those of you unaware of what the Ouija is, it is a game board with a plastic or wood magnifying glass eyes in the center. It is said that when you ask a question, a spirit, entity, or demon may reply by moving the "glass eye" to form words or answer "yes" or "no"). In the past there have been many debates as to the safety of said Ouija, but I am supposing sales are excelled and it keeps it's home on the Toys R' Us shelves.

As far as my personal view, spirits, be they evil or protective and kind, should not be tampered with by the masses. Just like any other job or event, rendering spirits takes a great deal of responsibility, planning, and knowledge. For example, if you ask a true ghost hunter the measures they take to communicate with the dead, they will give you a list of not only devices but also a small credo. (See the Ghost Hunter's Credo in our Navigation Bar). There has to be a respect for the dead. After-all, you are trespassing in their territory and ultimately, their spiritual stomping ground.

To learn more about the Ouija and to get more knowledge on it before you make the choice of conjuring spirits, go to your library, Google the term, or ask someone who has used a Ouija.
