Here is the first part in a series of social networking sites I have promised readers recently. This article covers the basics of fourteen social networking sites. Within this article, there are sites in which you can promote yourself, thoughts, and views. Perhaps you could promote your articles it is just a thought.

For purposes of this page, and the amount of editing it would take to install links I am just typing the name of the site. It would be your jobs to go ahead and copy the link to visit the site simply add the triple w to the front of the word that is followed by dot com. Yes, I am feeling lazy today.

Bebo.com is mainly for people in schools and colleges around the nation. It has a huge estimated user base of thirty four million people. Although I have never heard of this one I think, it would be wonderful for anything related to educational. It has an open door policy that means anyone can join it which is cool.

BlackPlanet.com is a social networking site for African-Americans and there are many users out here. It is estimated at around sixteen million users. It also has an open door policy that is great. It would be great to promote your self out here with that many users.

Facebook.com, which was started for colleges, then high schools, and is now open to everyone. Thirty four million users call this site home. Anyone who wants to can join this site.

Hi5.com is a general social network with fifty million users, and it is open to anyone who wishes to join.

Live Journal Blogging is an excellent way of promoting your views on any subject. Almost thirteen million users utilize this blogging site.

MySpace.com is a general web site where visitors share all type of things from videos to thoughts. This site has over two hundred million users, of which I am one. On my profile, I use the bulletin board to promote my articles; in the interest section I have, an rss feed of my articles. I use my blog as well there to promote my articles. Everyone who is on myspace is in your network.

Netlog.com, which was formerly known as Facebox, is a lot like myspace in certain ways and twenty four million users have profiles here.
