Positioned on East Main Street in New Albany, Indiana, Culbertson Mansion is the centerpiece of the Mansion Row Historic District. Built in 1867 for William Stewart Culbertson, noted as one of Indiana's wealthiest residents, the $120,000 French Second Empire Style mansion looms not only in its elegant style, but also in a shroud of haunted mystery.

Each year the Friends of Culbertson Mansion, an organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of this historical landmark, opens the doors of the mansion to share the haunted secrets that lie behind them.

This year, the Friends of Culbertson Mansion have scheduled a variety of events to satisfy all of the haunted cravings for every member of your family.

Haunted Story Telling

Join a story teller in the main parlor of the mansion and prepare to be chilled! Surrounded by the haunted walls you'll hear a variety of stories that are sure to keep you up all night. Story telling sessions are Friday and Saturday, October 19 and 20, and 26 and 27. The sessions begin at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and are only $1 per person. Children under 12 are 50 cents. Each session is limited to the first 50 people that arrive.

Ghostly Happenings Tour

A one hour night time tour of the mansion is sure to get your hair standing on end. Join a Culbertson Mansion tour guide as you walk through the hallways and corridors of the historically spooky former residence of the wealthiest man in Indiana. The Ghostly Happenings Tour opens on Wednesday, September 25 at 8:30 p.m. Additional tours are available on October 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31 at 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Cost for the tour is $10 per person. Reservations and payment are required before taking part in the haunted adventure.

Ghost Watch Sleepover
