Experts all agree -(and most people will as acknowledge as well)- maintaining a healthy, youthful look responds best when in conjunction with a exercise, nutrition, and fitness lifestyle. But, for some reason, most adults refuse to commit to an exercise program past high school gym class. Maybe they haven't heard about endorphins!

The United States has become a nation of sports fans content to watch, munch, and grunt rather than play sports or engage in physical activities designed to promote health, good looks, and longevity. As a result, the experts also state Americans have become a nation plagued with lifestyle diseases.

Lifestyle diseases are those diseases "that appear to increase in frequency as countries become more industrialized and live longer," states wikipedia.org. With that information, I wonder if most exercise drop-outs have heard all the good news about exercise because diseases are thought to be influenced most by diet, lifestyle, and environment.

Regular exercise, 3 or more times a week, is reported to be a good strategy to ward off diseases. Some of the most well known diseases or disease related conditions are considered to be depression, diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's, cancer, and arteriosclerosis.

One significant benefit of regular exercise is the production of endorphins. Endorphins are hormones. Harmones stimulate physiological changes in the body. Endorphins work to relieve pain and stress by sending off "no pain," signals to the brain.

Traditionally, people feel pain and so do not exercise because they are not aware of how to best fight on behalf of their health. The first thought is to caution. And, caution is primary in any exercise program. However, if used as an excuse for being lazy, the result is always a health issue.

A good exercise program can be any aerobic activity. It does not have to always be the same activity. In fact, cross training is not only highly respected as an excellent business model, it is also of the best forms of exercise for overall body conditioning.

Very true. Another interesting fact: being happy about what you eat (rather than depressed at the number of calories you're eating) releases endorphins. This doesn't cancel out all the long-term affects of sugar and fat consumption, but it is comprable to a small amount of exercise.
