Is Alpha Phi Omega the fraternity for you? It might be. Are you thinking about joining a fraternity or sorority but uncertain which one to pick? Do you like the idea of belonging to a group of like-minded people but want something more than just pledge week, frat parties and networking to get a job in the future? There is another choice out there. Alpha Phi Omega is a fraternity that has been the center of college life for thousands of young men and women and more likely than not has a chapter on your campus just waiting for you. A fraternity choice is something you really make for a lifetime. You'll want it to be a good one.

What Alpha Phi Omega Is All About. Alpha Phi Omega is not your typical fraternity by any stretch of the imagination. It really stands alone and apart. Alpha Phi Omega is a National Service Fraternity . Alpha Phi Omega was founded in 1925 at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. The aim of this fraternity from the beginning was to provide college students with an opportunity to grow in leadership skills and to learn the value of service to the community as part of their college experience. Much of the philosophy of Alpha Phi Omega is drawn from the philosophy of the Boys Scouts of America.

Those who join Alpha Phi Omega to build leadership skills and to offer service are also joining an organization that fosters friendship during college years and beyond. As college students join together to provide service to others they come to know other students and form a very special bond. In many instances Alpha Phi Omega students discover that through their fraternity they are brought into close contact, brotherhood and friendship with people who they might otherwise never have made contact. In this way Alpha Phi Omega enriches the lives of those who receive service and those who give it in league with their fraternity brothers and sisters.
