We went to three stores looking for a mattress and new bedroom set. The mattress only store was Sleepy's located at 123 Pearl Street, Pearl Plaza in Braintree, Massachusetts. You've probably seen the multitude of ads shown on television.

Christine helped us and helped us and helped us. We were the only customers in the store and later learned that the mattress business is slow so if you are in the market now is the time to buy one!

We made a preliminary decision on a Beautyrest (Simmons) coil mattress. She gave us $400 off the retail price. Christine was friendly and professional. The store was immaculate and had a very large inventory of Sealy, Serta, Termpur-pedic, and Kingsdown to name a few.

We went to two furniture stores and really liked the Tempur-pedic in the first store; however the second store, Bob's Discount Furniture, had a look alike which felt just like the Tempur-pedic but was $500 less.

Finally we ended up seeing Christine again at Sleepy's. We told her about our day and what we thought we had decided. She told us that if we changed our minds and wanted to go to a Sleepy's closer to home that was fine she'd still get the commission.

Two days later we went to Sleepy's located at 16 Home Depot Drive in Plymouth, MA. Again we were treated professionally and with a lot of friendliness. The store also had a large inventory.

The night before I had done a lot of research about a new law stating that all mattresses have to be flame retardant. That's a nice law except that the substance used is Boric Acid which is the stuff that kills cockroaches and other creepy crawlers. I didn't feel good about buying Bob' look alike made oversees or sleeping on foam, made of petroleum and Boric Acid.

You're right, Lori. Funny because when we were balking at the price saying that we expect to pay $500 I was thinking that my eyeglasses cost more than $500!
