Chances are that you do not want to have another baby as soon as your first child is born. Odds are, that you've been running ragged for the past 10 months. You are going to have your hands full with this baby and you don't want to be run down and pregnant while taking care of the new baby. Most parents will choose to have a baby at least 15 months after the first baby is born. This way you still remember everything and yet you give yourself a break before the new baby will be born. There's no perfect time to have the next baby you just have to be ready for it.You will also want to make sure that your significant other wants to have a baby. You don't want to jump the gun before you are ready. If you are moving or planning on moving you may want to wait until after you have moved. If you have just started a new career you might also want to wait. You will most likely get maternity leave but you can't expect your job to waiting for you after you return if you haven't worked there for very long.
If your child is still getting you up all through the night you're probably not going to have enough energy to take care of the baby while you are pregnant. You don't want to be at home taking care of a baby by yourself while you are sick and pregnant. There are many factors that will determine when you want to have your second child. You don't want one child to be driving and the other child to be two years old. You want to have time to relax around the time that you will retire. You don't want to be taking care of a small child when you should be retiring.
There's also some risks that come with having a baby after forty years of age. There's a significant risk of down syndrom and other problems. You can always get tests done to see what the possibilities are. This doesn't mean that you don't want to wait that long but it's best to have a baby before that age. You also don't want to have a baby when you're sixteen years old either. If you aren't financially stable you might want to consider waiting to have this next baby. Take a look at where you stand and you will know when you are ready for the next baby.
