You could also use this Halloween hand to hold a Halloween balloon bouquet you are giving someone or decorating with. Finally, nothing says Halloween more than a creepy mummy hand coming out of a bowl of candy!
To Make a Quick Halloween Mummy Hand You Will Need:
1 Plastic glove
News paper, paper filler, popcorn, peanut shells or rocks
Gauze, bandage material, cheese cloth, or toilet paper
Tape
Rubber band
The first step is to buy a pack of rubber gloves. You can use those super cheap packs that are a dollar at your local grocery store. If you already have a pair of yellow rubber glove you could use those.
This Halloween Mummy hand can be disassembled and yoru gloves can go back under the sink!
Now, start filling the gloves up with some material. I like to use a mixture of small shred of newspaper and some sand. Slip the newspaper in first to really fill out the rubber glove. Now, pour in some sand to add weight.
You could also use small pebbles, fish aquarium rocks, or all sand to make a heavier quick mummy hand to hold onto a Halloween balloon bouquet.
Now, use the rubber band to tie off the glove. You could also tie off a cheap plastic or rubber glove just like your tie a balloon shut.
Now, you are ready to start adding the gauze, cheese cloth or top. If you have the time, it really looks cool to tear apart strips of cheesecloth and use that.
If you are using a fabric, try buying a liquid starch. Dip the clothe into the liquid starch and start wrapping yoru rubber glove like a mummy hand. You will not need tape if you use this method. Do this outside of the hand will dry quickly.
Lay the wet fabric hand over and edge to shape the fingers of the Halloween mummy hand. You will be surprised how sturdy the liquid starch can be once it dries.
